Sauce pots keep dips, dressings and sides separate, so food arrives the way it left your kitchen. This guide covers the four styles we stock, which size to use for what, and how to choose between paper, plastic and bagasse.
Sauce pot styles compared
- Kraft paper sauce pots with matching paper lids, in brown or white. A PE-lined interior resists leaks and grease. A good fit for brands moving away from plastic.
- Clear plastic sauce pots with snap-on lids, in three strengths: standard, medium and high density. Clear plastic lets customers see which sauce is which.
- Hinged sauce pots: clear pots with the lid attached by a hinge, so there’s no separate lid to find during a busy service.
- Bagasse sauce pots with lids, made from sugarcane fibre, to match a bagasse packaging range.
Which sauce pot size do I need?
- 1oz (about 30ml): single sachets’ worth of ketchup, mayo or mint sauce, and samples.
- 2oz (about 60ml): the standard dip portion for garlic mayo, chilli sauce and dressings.
- 4oz (about 120ml): larger portions of sauce, gravy, coleslaw and sides.
- 6oz (180ml): curry sauce, gravy and side portions (hinged pots).
Kraft paper sauce pots
Paper portion pots with a PE-lined interior and matching lids, sold with pots and lids together. Brown kraft: 1oz, 2oz, 4oz. White kraft: 1oz, 2oz, 4oz.
Clear plastic sauce pots: standard, medium or high density?
All three come in 2oz (59ml) and 4oz (118ml) with snap-on lids included. The difference is strength:
- Standard density: lightweight and the lowest cost, best for light sauces, dressings and samples. 2oz or 4oz.
- Medium density: balanced strength and cost for most dips and everyday takeaway use. 2oz or 4oz.
- High density: extra strong and rigid, the best choice for hot, thick sauces and heavier fills. 2oz or 4oz.
Hinged sauce pots
Crystal-clear pots with a snap-shut attached lid. Dimensions (top / base / height): 1oz 30ml, 45 / 33 / 22mm; 2oz 60ml, 62 / 45 / 29mm; 4oz 120ml, 74 / 54 / 34mm; 6oz 180ml, 90 / 65 / 38mm.
Bagasse sauce pots
If you use our bagasse range for mains, matching bagasse pots keep your packaging consistent: 2oz and 4oz.
Quick buying checklist
- Choose a style: kraft paper, clear plastic, hinged or bagasse.
- Pick sizes: 2oz for dips is the most common, with 1oz for condiments and 4oz or 6oz for sides.
- For plastic pots, choose high density for hot or thick sauces.
